It lets you add notes on the fly from any app, but also lets you drag files and integrates with System Services, the OS X share button, and PDF services. The menu bar companion, Curiota, is a very handy addition. The new “Local” library shelf-with custom watch folders, fast searches and integration with Curiota (see below)-harnesses Spotlight to make working with information stored anywhere on your system an easy task. The Library in Curio has always been an integral piece of its functionality, allowing shared and reusable resources, integration with Evernote, and additional project management capabilities. I’ve always found importing brainstorming sessions into Curio to be a delight-just drag and drop most file types or paste OPML, Markdown, text, and more, and have them converted to native formats in Curio-and these further enhancements only improve the seamless integration with my other tools. Importing from iMindMap and MindNode is also improved. Mind maps in Curio can now have automatically-sorted branches, as can list collections. Whereas previously you would be best off organizing your notes and information on a flat surface, stacks allow you to collect notes into piles and easily navigate, arrange, and sort the information. The most useful of these for me is the new “Stacks” feature. While not adding complexity, Curio has added several features that better accommodate large collections of information. “Refinements” would be an understatement for many of the new features. I also covered the release of version 9 on this blog, so I’ll go ahead and jump to the changes in version 10. I wrote a longer piece about Curio years ago for TUAW (now archived at Engadget), so if you’d like a foundation explanation of Curio, check that out. Version 10 just came out, along with a menu bar app for quick entry, and it continues to extend the capabilities of this powerhouse application. With mind maps, lists, file links, notes, full project organization tools, and much more, it’s a complete productivity app.

#CURIOTA DRINKS UPDATE#

This automatic update is available via the Mac App Store app to anyone running macOS High Sierra (10.13) or greater.I consider Curio to be the most expansive brainstorming application on the market. It also includes updates for macOS Catalina, as well as a number of enhancements and fixes based on feedback from customers. Last, but not least, our Curiota 3.2 app was released last weekend at the Mac App Store.

Note that anyone running older versions of Curio will need to purchase a discounted Curio upgrade if they intend to upgrade to macOS Catalina. In both Curio 13 and Curio 12, the daily update check should find the new releases, although you can also choose the Curio > Check for Updates menu item to grab the update right now. With this update, Curio 12 can run on macOS Sierra (10.12) through macOS Catalina (10.15). It is also notarized, as required by Catalina, although Curio 13 is notarized and compiled with hardened runtime entitlements which is even more secure. With this update, Curio 13 can run on macOS High Sierra (10.13) through macOS Catalina (10.15).Ĭurio 12.2.3 was also rolled out with fixes to accommodate changes Apple made to Catalina's interface framework. This is on top of the numerous Curio 13.1 tweaks and fixes which came out earlier this summer. Curio 13.2 was just released with loads of new enhancements and fixes, including updates to support the upcoming release of Apple's macOS Catalina (10.15).
